About Us & Why We Exist

Formed in 2014 by a small group of volunteers

We strive to facilitate the creation of affordable homes to help local people remain part of the communities in which they live and work.

Helping Local People Live Where They Work

Lyme Regis Community Land Trust is a community-led organisation working to provide affordable homes for local people in Lyme Regis, Uplyme, Charmouth and surrounding supporting community-led affordable housing in West Dorset and East Devon.

We work with residents, landowners, housing associations and local authorities to identify housing needs, find suitable sites and support the delivery of affordable homes.

Our award-winning Timber Hill development delivered 15 affordable homes, and we continue to explore new opportunities across the area.

Local People Need Affordable Homes to Live Where They Work

The Jurassic Coast is internationally renowned. But with that success comes increasing pressure on local housing from tourism, second homes and investment.

The very qualities that make Lyme Regis, Uplyme and Charmouth such desirable places to live can make it difficult for local people to remain part of the communities they serve.

Without affordable housing, families, key workers, young people and older residents can find themselves priced out of the places they call home.

Lyme Regis Community Land Trust was established to help address that challenge and support thriving, sustainable communities for future generations.
