How to Apply for a Garmans Field Home
The affordable rented homes at Garmans Field (Timber Hill) are managed by Abri Housing Association in partnership with Lyme Regis Community Land Trust.
Step 1 – Register with Dorset Home Choice
To apply for a Garmans Field home, you must first register with Dorset Home Choice, Dorset’s housing register.
When completing your application, indicate that you are interested in Community Land Trust homes in Lyme Regis.
You can register at any time, even if there are currently no homes available.
Step 2 – Apply when homes become available
When a Garmans Field property becomes available, it will be advertised through Dorset Home Choice.
You will need to complete the application process and provide supporting information, including details of your local connection to Lyme Regis.
Step 3 – Local connection checks
Applicants will be asked to provide two referees who can confirm their connection to the local area.
Lyme Regis Community Land Trust will verify local connections and advise Abri accordingly.
Step 4 – Allocation of homes
Abri Housing Association is responsible for allocating homes in accordance with the agreed allocations policy.
Priority is given to applicants with a strong local connection to Lyme Regis and surrounding communities.
Applications are assessed against a range of factors, including:
- Housing need
- Eligibility for affordable housing
- Ability to sustain a tenancy
- Length of time registered with Dorset Home Choice
- Local connection criteria
Final allocation decisions are made by Abri Housing Association.

Dorset Home Notification – Renew Your Housing Register Application
We introduced the new Dorset Council Housing Allocation Policy on 1 September 2026.
If you joined the Housing Register before 1 January 2026, you must renew your application if you wish to remain on the housing register. If you have not done this yet, please complete your renewal by 21 September 2026.
If you do not renew by this date, your application will be closed.
